January 14, 2025 at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland I asked Hardcore Keem of
The Browning “What is something different fans will experience on the OMNI tour
besides the tracks?” He responded to me with a smile as he talked “Breakdowns, energy
and non stop moving. You are going to leave sore.” He was 100% correct. This tour had
a lineup that was full of energy and different metal styles. You got everything from a band
doing their first USA tour ever to seeing some rap metal and beat down metal favorites.
From driving into Baltimore and seeing M&T Bank stadium and everything on the blocks
around it lit up in purple to cheer on the cities beloved Ravens to the dance mosh pit
experience of a live The Browning show this was an assignment I will remember for a long
time to come.

For our Conversations With Vin interview series on American Mosh Pits we had two
new episodes filmed. I sat down with The Defect for their first ever media interview (a
very proud moment for me and American Mosh Pits). It went extremely well and one of
the most important things I learned is how connected Jonny and Moon McBee are as a
couple. We also sat down with the main event of this tour The Browning. I have been a fan of The Browning for many years so to sit down with the boys and ask questions about songs I find very interesting like 'Inner Mission', have them autograph my American Mosh Pits hat next to Tyler from Traitors signature and Keem is wearing a Traitors hoodie (true
story, watch the interview on American Mosh Pits and check it out!) and listening to Jonny
tell me about watching As I Lay Dying's Oceans Between Us DVD in 2008 and it inspiring
him to become a professional musician I would say I got my fandom fill for the day!
There was 4 bands on the bill for the evening. I want to say that this was my first
trip to the Ottobar and I was impressed! The sound was great, all staff I interacted with
was more than professional and the intimate setting of the club made for an experience
with the artist on stage that felt personal. First up was the USA premier of The Defect.

Their music makes me feel very good and to see it and experience it live I felt very good when the last note finished. It was special to be part of the first Baltimore Mosh Pit for The Defect, I am a lifelong Delmarva resident and I cherish any moment I can be part of music history in the Mid Atlantic. Up next was Filth with their “Southern Hospitality”. I personally have followed Filth for quite some time, covered them before, was happy to see them and knew their set would be solid. Just as I have seen them do time and time again, they laid down a solid beat down metal set. Dustin interacts with the crowd very well and the setting of the Ottobar gave him the ability to do his thing and have the fans screaming lyrics in his mic right along with him. I got to catch up with Dustin after their set and he always vocalizes how appreciative of us traveling to cover Filth shows he is and this is something I respect about him, he puts on the show and understands the business side of this. Dropout Kings filled slot 3 and this would be my first show of theirs. Man they are fun!

Their energy is so high on stage the crowd has no choice but to join in and have a great time. Adam did his usually trip into the crowd right in the beginning of the set. Even if rap metal is not your thing it is hard to not have a good time and smile and laugh during a Dropout Kings set. Last up is the reason the tour is on, The Browning. This was my first The Browning experience and that's exactly what it is, an experience. The Browning has mastered the art of involving a lot of your senses in their set. It's a true art form to experience, from the music to the visuals to the physical involvement the artists demand from the crowd. Jonny and Keem make sure you get your money's worth and “leave
sore”. I am surprised this tour didn't stop at a couple thousand person capacity arena after
witnessing it.

I go on a lot of assignments every year for American Mosh Pits and some of them
blend together. As I said in the beginning, this was an assignment I will remember for a
long time to come. I didn't expect to be the first person to interview The Defect. I didn't
expect to see the cities pride in their football team. I didn't expect to experience a show
built for an arena in a club that I was so close to the artists I could see their sweat. After
covering this tour stop I can recommend you see all of these bands live and I can
recommend you attend a show at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland.
